"Sorry" Buckcherry lyrics

Sorry lyrics

Oh I had a lot to say, was thinking on my time awayI missed you and things weren't the same'Cause everything inside it never comes out rightAnd when I see you cry, it makes me want to die

I'm sorry, I'm bad, I'm sorry, I'm blueI'm sorry about all things I said to youAnd I know, I can't take it backI love how you kiss, I love all your soundsAnd baby, the way you make my world go roundAnd I just wanted to say, I'm sorry

This time I think, I'm to blameIt's harder to get through the daysYou get older and blame turns to shame'Cause everything inside it never comes out rightAnd when I see you cry, it makes me want to die

I'm sorry, I'm bad, I'm sorry, I'm blueI'm sorry about all things I said to youAnd I know, I can't take it backI love how you kiss, I love all your soundsAnd baby, the way you make my world go roundAnd I just wanted to say, I'm sorry

Every single day, I think about how we came all this wayThe sleepless nights and the tears you criedIt's never too late to make it rightOh yeah, sorry

I'm sorry, I'm bad, I'm sorry, I'm blueI'm sorry about all things I said to youAnd I know, I can't take it backI love how you kiss, I love all your soundsAnd baby, the way you make my world go roundAnd I just wanted to say, I'm sorry

I'm sorry, babyI'm sorry, babyI'm sorry

Social and Political songs

Empty Walls- Serj Tankian

Your empty walls, your empty wallsPretentious adventures, dismissive apprehensionDon't waste your time on coffins todayWhen we decline from the confines of our mindDon't waste your time on coffins today

Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?

I want you to be left behind those empty wallsTold you to see from behind those empty wallsThose empty walls

When we decline from the confines of our mindDon't waste your time on coffins today

Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?

I want you to be left behind those empty wallsTold you to see from behind those empty wallsWant you to be left behind those empty wallsI told you to see from behind those empty wallsFrom behind those empty wallsFrom behind those empty walls, the wallsFrom behind those empty walls

(I loved you yesterday)From behind those empty wallsFrom behind those empty walls, the walls(Before you killed my family)

Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearningDying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?

I want you to be left behind those empty wallsTold you to see from behind those empty walls(Desolate and full of yearning, dying of anticipation)(Choking from intoxication)I want you to be left behind those empty walls(Don't you see their bodies burning, desolate and full of yearning(Dying of anticipation, choking from intoxication?)I told you to see from behind those empty walls

From behind those empty wallsFrom behind those fucking wallsFrom behind those goddamn wallsThose walls, those walls

In this song the artist is talking about the war in Iraq. In the video of this song it illustrates major events in the war but using children and a childrens play place to illustrate what is happening. In the song he talks about the people that have died and who are dying for our country. This song is important because it grabs your attention to what is happening currently and makes you think about it. It makes your heart go out to everyone involved.

Hunger Strike- Temple of the Dog

I don't mind stealing bread
From the mouths of decadence
But I can't feed on the powerless
When my cup's already overfilled
But it's on the table
The fire is cooking
And they're farming babies
While the slaves are working
The blood is on the table
And their mouths are choking
But I'm growing hungry

In this song the band is talking about social inequality and how people will steal from those who they consider "lower." It shows how everyone is not equal and what they have to deal with. It also brings up the point that the people that work really hard in life are the ones that struggle while others do not. The relenvence of this song is to prove that people do have hard times and it is not fair.

Repetition Of Sounds

Swing Life Away by Rise Against

Am I loud and clear or am I breaking up?Am I still your charm or am I just bad luck? Are we getting closer, are we just getting more lost?I'll show you mine if you show me yours firstLet's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worseLet's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

[Chorus]We live on front porches and swing life awayWe get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the endI won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

I've been here so long; think that its time to moveThe winter's so cold summer's over too soonso let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees growI've got some friends, some that I hardly knowBut we've had some times I wouldn't trade for the worldWe chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go

[Chorus]We live on front porches and swing life awayWe get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the endI won't cross these streets until you hold my hand, until you hold my hand

I'll show you mine if you show me yours firstLet's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worseLet's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

[Chorus]We live on front porches and swing life awayWe get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the endI won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

[Chorus]We live on front porches and swing life awayWe get by just fine here on minimum wage If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the endI won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

swing life awayswing life awayswing life awayswing life away

This song is about how a passionate relationship is far more important than money.

Guilty Pleasure by Cobra Starship and Jane Says by Jane's Addiction

Hard Truth

I don't care about my guilty pleasure for you
So I hide
Hes so cynical
But he treats me like a ragdoll
I start to cry
What kinda fool is he takin me for
He says poor baby
Shut your mouth, please don't talk anymore
I've never been in love
I only know if someone wants me

Song Analysis 2

Let It Die lyrics

A heart of gold But it lost it's pride Beautiful veins And bloodshot eyes I see your face In another light

Why'd you have to go And let it die Why'd you have to go And let it die Why'd you have to go And let it die In too deep And out of time Why'd you have to go And let it die

A simple man And his blushing bride (Why'd you have to go And let it die) Intravenous Intertwined (Why'd you have to go And let it die) Hearts gone cold Your hands were tied (Why'd you have to go And let it die)

Why'd you have to go And let it die (Why'd you have to go And let it die) Why'd you have to go And let it die In too deep And out of time Why'd you have to go And let it die

Do you ever think of me You're so considerate Did you ever think of me Oh so considerate

In too deep And lost in time Why'd you have to go And let it die Beautiful veins And bloodshot eyes Why'd you have to go And let it die Hearts gone cold And hands are tied Why'd you have to go And let it die Why'd you have to go And let it die

Do you ever think of me You're so considerate Did you think of me Oh so considerate

In too deep And lost in time Why'd you have to go And let it die Beautiful veins And bloodshot eyes Why'd you have to go And let it die Hearts gone cold And hands are tied Why'd you have to go And let it die Why'd you have to go And let this die Why'd you have to go And let this die Why'd you have to go And let this die Why'd you have to go And let this die Why'd you have to go And let it die

Foo Fighters “Let It Die”

The Foo Fighters is a alternative/ post grunge band that was formed by Dave Grohl in 1995. The name Foo Fighters is taken from a World War two term for unidentified flying object. The current members of the band are Dave Grohl as the lead vocals and rhythm guitar(he plays much more instruments), Nate Mendel on bass guitar, Taylor Hawkins on the drums and the back up vocals, and Chris Shiflett as the lead guitar and back up vocals. When Kurt Cobain died Nirvana ended so Grohl moved on and started his own band(Foo Fighters). He was offered to be a drummer in many bands but he decided that he could do more with music himself so he started a one man band which formed into the band today. He had written many songs while with Nirvana but kept them to himself because he always viewed Cobain as a better person when it came to music. Thus, Foo Fighters was created.
The song “Let It Die” is about how two people fall apart in a relationship. It is also about helplessness and how things in life can be thrown away. Dave Grohl has said "It's a song that's written about feeling helpless to someone else's demise. I've seen people lose it all to drugs and heartbreak and death. It's happened more than once in my life, but the one that's most noted is Kurt. And there are a lot of people that I've been angry with in my life, but the one that's most noted is Courtney. So it's pretty obvious to me that those correlations are gonna pop up every now and again." In relationships there are hard times that some people can not make it through. When those people can not it is sometimes led to heartbreak/love like in this song. In the song when it states “I see your face in another light” it is saying how I am starting to see the real you. In the song the phrase “Why'd you have to go and let it die” is repeated many times. This could be referring to Kurt Cobain and how Grohl could feel about toward what happened, and or how Nirvana died. It can also mean why did you let are relationship fall apart/ why did you not save me or us. Another part is when the song says “A simple man and his blushing bride” is meant as a happy time and a joyful time in a relationship but a few lines down it says “Hearts gone cold your hands were tied” were it changes and is illustrating how the people in the relationship do not have the same feelings as once before and they were to preoccupied to fix it. Finally when it says “Do you ever think of me” the song is showing how those people still have feelings for each other but do not really care to do anything about it because they are to heartbroken. Clearly, “Let It Die” is directed towards relationships weather it’s a boyfriend/girlfriend, friendship, or marriage.
This song is related towards my theme and genre. It is related because the whole song is about a relationship and how it was fine in the beginning but some events made it turn into a bad relationship that ended but the people in it could have old feelings for each other. It also relates to my genre because mine is alternative rock and the Foo Fighters are a alternative band. Some Poetic devices are as followed. The first one is alliteration. In the song it says “…blushing bride…” that is an example of alliteration because of the B’s. Another is the character in the song. The character in this song is the people who are going through the up and down relationship. The climax in “Let It Die” is when the paste of the song itself goes from being slow and mellow to quick and kind of aggressive. The conflict in the song is that a couple broke up and now they are both looking back on to it and seeing if what they had was good or a loss of time. Another poetic device is mood. The mood in the Foo Fighters song is the love and heartbreak in any type of relationship and the sadness that can come with it. The tone of it would be in my eyes why did the person I care for so much do this to me and what am I going to do next. Finally narrative poem is considered one also because of the relationship itself. Thus, there are a lot of poetic devices to describe what is happening in a song.

Repetition

All Night Thing- Temple of the Dog
EPISTROPHE

She motioned to me That she wanted to leave And go somewhere warm Where we'd be alone I do not know, what's going on But I'm guessing it's an all night thing

If it's an all night thing Nobody is gonna make it end And if it don't begin Don't worry that I'll take offense And if it's an all night thing And we fall like a tear falling To the ground I'll never come around And you'll never hear a word from me If it's an all night thing

I walked along, feeling at ease And falling like rain Into her scheme She won't let on what that will be But I'm guessing It's an all night thing

If it's an all night thing Nobody is gonna make it end And if it don't begin Don't worry that I'll take offense And if it's an all night thing And we fall like a tear falling To the ground I'll never come around And you'll never hear a word from me If it's an all night thing

Jambi lyrics
ANAPHORA

Here from the king's mountain view Here from the wild dream come true Feast like a sultan I do On treasures and flesh, never few.

But I, I would wish it all away. If I thought I'd Lose you just one day.

The devil and his had me down, in love with the dark side I'd found. Dabble in all the way down up to my neck soon to drown.

But you changed that all for me. Lifted me up, turned me round. So I...I... I... I... I would I would I would Wish this all away

Prayed like a father dusk to dawn. Beg like a hooker all night long. Tempted the devil with my song. And got what I wanted all along.

But I, And I would, If I could, And I would, Wish it away, Wish it away, Wish it all away, Wanna wish it all away, No prize that could hold sway, Or justify my giving away, my center.

So if I could I'd wish it all away. If I thought tomorrow would take you away. You're my peace of mind, my home, my center. I'm just trying to hold on, One more day.

Dim my eyes...Dim my eyes...

Dim my eyes if they should compromise our fulcrum what you need divides me then I might as well be gone.

Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son.

Shine down upon the broken. Shine until the two become one.

Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son.

Shine on upon the severed. Shine until the two become one.

Divided I'm withering away.

Divide and I'm withering away.

Shine on upon the many, light our way Benevolent son.

Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. So as one survive. Another day and season.

Silence leech, and save your poison. Silence leech, and stay out of my way.

Metaphors

The song that i chose was "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden. The whole song is about being in a bad relationship and wanting to get out of it. Both people in this case want to be out of the relationship but for some reason or another stay together. They just make it worse for each other and they end up both being very unhappy. This causes angst on both people because of the bad relationship. They will get into fights and they are just very unhappy overall. One of the metaphors that are in "Rusty Cage" is "To watch my blood begin to boil." Someones blood can not really boil. This is refuring to the fact when people are in relationships and they fight they get frustrated and angry at the other person and its just how they feel. The next metaphor is "And ride a pack of dogs". This means all of the stress that is building up between both of them is just going to come out and feel like a pack of dogs. Another metaphor is "And it's raining icepicks on your steel shore" This is saying that one of the people in the bad relationship is saying to the other that their heart is like ice and thats what they feel like they get out of the relationship. Thats what the song means to me.

Rusty Cage lyrics
And hit me with a hand of broken nails You tied my lead and pulled my chain To watch my blood begin to boil

But I'm gonna break I'm gonna break my I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Too cold to start a fire I'm burning diesel burning dinosaur bones I'll take the river down to still water And ride a pack of dogs

I'm gonna break I'm gonna break my I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Hits like a Phillips head into my brain It's gonna be too dark to sleep again Cutting my teeth on bars and rusty chains I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

When the forest burns along the road Like God's eyes in my headlights When the dogs are looking for their bones And it's raining icepicks on your steel shore

I'm gonna break I'm gonna break my I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

The next song that i picked was "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum. The song is about teenage runaways. Some of the people that the song is about did actually run away while others were taken and some of them never seen again. Some times people feel the need to runaway from their problems instead of facing them head on. These people chose that. One metaphor in the song is "I was a key that could use a little turning." This is saying that in life you can only be yourself and that some times you belive or in fact you do need to fix things about yourself. Sometimes there good things and sometimes there not but most of the time you have to face these things. Thats what the song means to me.

Runaway Train lyrics
Call you up in the middle of the night Like a firefly without a light You were there like a blowtorch burning I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep So many secrets I couldn't keep Promised myself I wouldn't weep One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now I'm in too deep there's no way out This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train never going back Wrong way on a oneway track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile Make it somehow all seems worth while? How on earth did I get so jaded? Life's mystery seems so dated

I can go where no one else can go I know what no one else knows Here I am just drownin' in the rain With a ticket for a runaway train

Everything is cut and dry Day and night earth and sky Somehow I just don't believe it

Runaway train never going back Wrong way on a oneway track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Solo

Bought a ticket for a runaway train Like a madman laughin' at the rain A little out of touch little insane It's just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never going back Wrong way on a oneway track Seems like I should be getting somewhere Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Runaway train never comin' back Runaway train tearin' up the track Runaway train burnin' in my veins Runawaybut it always seems the same

Similes

In the song "Dead and Bloated" by Stone Temple Pilots there is a simile. When the song says "I am smellin' like the rose that somebody gave me on my birthday deathbed." When STP states this they are saying that they are feeling crummy and that when something so wonderful is given to them they don't really care for it and it doesn't help at all when you are feeling stressed out. The whole song is about feeling betrayed during a relationship. When it says "I am trampled under soles of another man's shoes because I walked to softly" it's meaning how people sometimes do not stand up for themselves in arguments and how people cause stress/angst on relationships. Another part is "And she says it's natural," this is usually the person in the relationship that everything comes easy to them and they never have to worry about anything.

Dead & Bloated lyrics
I am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me onmy birthday deathbedI am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me'cause I'm dead & bloated

I am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me onmy birthday deathbedI am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me'cause I'm dead & bloated

Ohh yeah, and she says it's naturalI feel I've come of ageWhen she peeks I start to runOhh yeah, and she says it's naturalI feel I've come of ageWhen she peeks I start to run

You can't swallow what I'm thinkin'You can't swallow what I'm thinkin'

I am trampled under sole ofanother man's shoesGuess I walked too softly

Ohh yeah, and she says it's naturalI feel I've come of ageWhen she peeks I start to runOhh yeah, and she says it's naturalI feel I've come of ageWhen she peeks I start to run

You can't swallow what I'm thinkin'You can't swallow what I'm thinkin'

I run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrowI run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrow

I am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me onmy birthday deathbedI am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me'cause I'm dead & bloated

I run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrowI run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrowI run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrowI run through the world thinkin' 'bout tomorrow, thinkin' 'bout tomorrow

I am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me onmy birthday deathbedI am smellin' like the rosethat somebody gave me, somebody gave me,somebody gave me onmy birthday deathbed

The next song that has a simile is "Where The River Goes" by yet again Stone Temple Pilots. The whole song is about where life takes you and what you have to go through on your journey in life and what you may have to face. In the song when they say "I wanna be as big as a mountain, I wanna fly as high as the sun, I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven..." is a simile. I wanna be as big as a moutain is refuring to i want to be a bigger person in life and get over my fears. I wanna fly as high as the sun is stateing that i wanna be with the others that have died in my life. Same thing when they say I wanna know what the rent's like in heaven is saying that they want to go see their lost ones in heaven that have died. All of this causes angst on the person the song is about because they could become depressed because they miss the ones that they have lost in life and that they want to become a better person in life.

Where The River Goes lyrics
Yeah, I could hide in the calm of the eye of the stormAnd never blow awayWell, I'm a young man with a knife to my backSome things never seem to change

Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hideSing the song or keep it insideBought the farm, but the farmer done diedSing that song, sing that song inside

I wish I could live in the dreamthat I fly on the tarred & freathered wingsWell, I'm losing a game of realitydice where the dealer never ever pays

Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hideSing the song or keep it insideBought the farm, but the farmer done diedSing that song, sing that song inside

I wanna be as big as a mountainI wanna fly as high as the sunI wanna know what the rent's like in heavenI wanna know where the river goes

Yeah, I could hide in the calm of the eye of the stormAnd never blow awayWell, I'm a young man with a knife to my backSome things never seen to change

If I was strongerI could be a mountain rangeIf night was longerCould I escape the day?If I was strongerI could be a mountain rangeIf night was longerCould I escape the day?

Nowhere to run to, nowhere to hideSing the song or keep it insideBought the farm, but the farmer done diedSing that song, sing that song inside

I wanna be as big as a mountainI wanna fly as high as the sunI wanna know what the rent's like in heavenI wanna know where the river...I wanna be as big as a mountainI wanna fly as high as the sunI wanna know what the rent's like in heavenI wanna know where the river goesWhere the river goesWhere the river goesWhere the river, yeahWhere the riverWhere the riverWhere the riverWhere the riverWhere the river goesWhere the river goes

Song Analysis

Pearl Jam “Jeremy”
Peal Jam was one of the first grunge bands of it’s time. The band originated out of Seattle, Washington like most of the 90’s grunge bands in 1990. Eddie Vedder is the lead vocals, Jeff Ament on bass, Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, and Mike McCready on lead guitar are all the original members of the band. Currently, former drummer of Soundgarden, Matt Cameron plays the drums for them. Most people considered Pearl Jam as a corporate crash on the rock scene. Pearl Jam is not like most bands in the sense of refusing to make music videos and not going with the “typical” type of music like other bands. Pearl Jam boycotted Ticketmaster which was considered controversial. Pearl Jam has outlasted most of the bands that came out of in the grunge era and are to most people one of the most influential bands of the decade. The song “Jeremy” illustrates teen angst and how it can be relating to the early 90’s grunge movement.
The song “Jeremy” is about a young boy who commits suicide. There are two true events of where the band came up with the idea. One of the events is when the lead singer Eddie Vedder read about it in a newspaper article. A fifteen year old name Jeremy Wade Delle shot himself in front of his English class in 1991. As the story goes he was told to go to get an admittance slip from his school’s office. Jeremy left his class and he returned with a .357 magnum revolver. He went to the front of the room and supposedly said “Miss, I got what I really went for” and sadly shot himself. His classmates described Jeremy as someone who was normally quiet and always seemed sad. The other event that caused Pearl Jam to write this song is when Eddie Vedder himself was some what involved in a shooting. A kid named Brian that went to his junior high school shot up an oceanography class and Eddie was in the halls when it happened. He used to pick on the kid and the two of them would get into many confutations. The song is about both of the two kids but mainly about Jeremy.

The whole song is about how some kids that get so depressed and sadly can not deal with it. Some people just get so sad and so stressed on everything in their life that they do not know what to do and they believe that this is the only way out. In the song it states “Daddy didn’t give attention, oh, to the fact that mommy didn’t care.” This illustrates how some kids either feel or are really being ignored at home and feel like no one cares about them and no one will help them with their troubles. It also shows that many people have problems at home that they never address then and they try to go on living their lives the “normal way”. Another part in the song it says “Jeremy spoke in class today”. This is referring to when Jeremy himself went in front of his class and shot himself. Jeremy going and doing that in class is basically showing us that he is trying to make a statement, and one of the statements was I dislike my life and now I need to end it. The next line in the song that is meaningful is when it says “clearly I remember pickin’ on the boy seemed a harmless little f*$#. Ooo, but we unleashed a lion.” This reflects on when Eddie Vedder and the kid Brian would get into fights in school. It also means that kids like to pick on kids, plain and simple. Some kids like to take it to a different level and actually make the other person feel bad and think that their cool just because they could make other kids laugh. The truth is people should never do that because you never know who your going to upset or whose feelings your going to hurt and what those people could do or will not do. The next important part in the song is “And he hit me with a surprise left.” This illustrates how when someone does hurt themselves the people that are around those people sometimes did not see it coming and do not know how to react to it. The last meaningful part in the song is when it states “Try to forget this…try to forget this…try to erase this…try to erase this…from the blackboard…” This can shows two things. One is the memory of the event of Jeremy going in front of the class and killing himself. It can also mean that when Jeremy killed himself and there was blood on the board and everyone in the class wanted to get ride of it and forget the whole thing even happened. Clearly, all teens have angst in their life and deal with it in different ways as presented in the song “Jeremy”.

“Jeremy” fits into my theme because the whole song is about stress/angst and how a person deals with it. All teens have stress and they all can not deal with an over load. There are many factors that can cause it. Some are school, family, friends, jobs, sports, ect. We all have a nervous breakdown sometime in our lives. The song illustrates how finally one day one kid could not take it anymore and decided to end his life just to maybe make himself feel better. It also fits in because “Jeremy” was revolutionary in the fact that it brought teen suicide into the light of music and known. Many people considered it taboo to talk about because it is personal but the fact of the matter is that teens should always talk about their problems so they can feel relieved and get all of it off of their chests.

There are many poetic devices in the song “Jeremy”. Some of them are the following. Throughout the whole song there is foreshadowing in the fact that you have to think of the worse possible thing that will happen when a kid does not like his life and people constantly put him down. The character of the song is Jeremy. He is also the protagonist. The next poetic device is mood. The mood in the song “Jeremy” is very sad and upsetting. The song wants the listener to put yourself in Jeremy’s position and think what is was like to go on day in and day out living what he had to live and seeing how you would deal with it. The song “Jeremy” is a narrative poem because it tells a story. When it states “try to forget this….try to forget this….try to erase this…try to erase this” it is an example of a caesura because when sung they take pauses when played. The climax of the song is when Jeremy decides to act on his thoughts and ideas and commit suicide. Another poetic device that is used is conflict. The conflict in the song “Jeremy” is when the kid is not getting the love and attention at home and when he is picked on in school. In this song the tone is what can happen with angst and stress it self and how people deal with it in different ways. The point of view of the song is put through the eyes of either Jeremy and what he went through and also the people that lived around him and how they were effected by him and his actions. When it says “ooo, but we unleashed a lion” it is referring to Jeremy and how he acted out. In the song the narrator is perceived as Eddie Vedder because he was the one that read about the kid Jeremy and went to school with Brian. Thus, this song is important because every person has demons and some people can not live with them but everyone has the ability to deal with them.

Narrative

The song that i chose was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. In the song there is a story of a teen revolution. The narrator is being sarcastic the whole time and he goes back and fort with ideas. When they say "load up on guns, bring your friends it's fun to lose, and to pretend" its saying how when kids hang out with their friends there parents think that they are up to no good. Another part of the story of the song is "little group" and "a mulatto, an albino, a mosquito, my libido" this shows how kids hang in groups and tend to have sex because they are young. In the song Nirvana hints upon the ideas of sex a few times, especially when they say "with the lights out, it's less dangerous". They are saying how teens grown up and do grown up things. Also "I feel stupid and contagious" illustartes how people tend to do dumb things when they have peer pressure. Finally when they say "whatever, nevermind" it shows us that alot of people tend to have ADD and have trouble concentrateing, or to forget what is going on in their lives that could be hard for the person in general. This whole song is just about a day in the life of an average teen.
